They represent the future and will one day run the country and lead us to new heights. The most important gift we can give to them is an environment virtually free from the dangers of this world, especially safe schools. With an epidemic of mass shootings arising in recent years, it is more important than ever to improve our security footprint in schools.  One of the most effective tools available today to ensure safe schools is ASR technologies. By leveraging this revolutionary approach to safety, we can mitigate threats as they arrive instead of reacting to incidents after they occur. ASR Alert Systems utilize state-of-the-art threat alert notifications to immediately launch Law Enforcement and First Responder action. Time is one of the biggest factors in the response to an active shooter situation and minimizing the reaction time for Law Enforcement is critical to providing safe schools for our children. ### Lower Police Department Response Times using ASR Technology Police department response times can vary greatly across the country. The rapid onset of increased mass shootings in recent years has brought the issue of police department response times to the attention of the entire nation. Even in major cities like New York City and Los Angeles with massive police forces, the average time is over six minutes. The National Sheriff’s Association clocked average police department response times at 18 minutes, five minutes longer than the average duration of a mass shooting. ASR technologies change this factor with state-of-the-art threat alert notifications that automatically launch a Law Enforcement response. Pressing the threat alert button immediately notifies Law Enforcement and First Responders and it provides the exact location of the threat. This significantly lowers police department response times which is critical to countering the active shooter threat. Time can be the number one factor in the outcome of the situation and the number of casualties. Have questions or wish to schedule a virtual demonstration? ASR Integration Capabilities To help make active threat detection technology even more valuable for your organization, the ASR system can be integrated with other security-related systems including Video Management Systems (VMS),  Access Control Systems, Public Announcement Systems (PA's), and Scrolling Board Platforms.  ASR can also be integrated into Law Enforcement Real-Time Crimes Centers (RTCCs) and 911 Computer Automated Dispatch (CAD) software. Having ASR as part of your organization's incident response plan is a value-added benefit and is significant for risk mitigation.
