Reduce Police Response Times Using ASR Technology

Imagine a scenario.  You are at work or school going about your day.  You hear a noise that you don't initially put together.  It sounds like fireworks, but something isn't right about hearing fireworks.  You soon realize you heard gunshots.  Now what?

The rapid onset of increased mass shootings in recent years has brought the issue of police department response times to the attention of the entire nation. Even in major cities like New York City and Los Angeles with massive police forces, the average time is over six minutes.  SIX MINUTES.  And many locations experience response times well beyond that six-minute average.  The National Sheriff’s Association clocked average police department response times at 18 minutes, five minutes longer than the average duration of a mass shooting.  That is an eternity in an emergency.  A shooter can create a lot of mayhem in that time and many lives can be lost or critically injured.

Pressing an ASR threat alert button immediately notifies Law Enforcement and First Responders and it provides the exact location of the threat (both the address and the location in the building).  You don't have to worry about all the mental tasks needed to notify 911 on your phone which your faculties are compromised (in an emergency, everyone experiences reflex and muscle memory delays.  Studies have proven that performing simple tasks, such as entering your passcode into your phone, then dialing 911 can be nearly impossible for most people when their lives and those around them are in danger.  With the ASR Threat Alert System, you simply push a wall-mounted or pendant button and you then immediately initiate protocols to keep yourself physically safe.  The button simultaneously notifies actual police officers in the area as well as the 911 call center and dispatch centers.  Sirens and strobes begin inside the building along with optional text alerts to those under attack.  In this manner, the situation is clear to everyone immediately so that emergency protocols can proceed immediately.  Responding officers can see building floorplans, camera feeds and more (customizable) so that they can adequately respond to the crisis.
