Alyssa’s Law was passed in Florida in June 2020 following the Stoneman Douglas High school shooting in February 2018. The law mandates that all schools in Florida must install a panic alarm that communicates directly with Law Enforcement.  Compliance with the law is required starting with the 2021-2022 academic year. Alyssa’s law has also been passed in New Jersey and is proposed in several other states including New York, New Jersey, Nebraska, and Texas.  The process is rumored to be starting in Pennsylvania as well.  In addition, there is a large congressional push to make Alyssa's Law a Federal national mandate for ALL schools across the United States.
